If administrators need to create many new users at once, they may choose to use the Bulk Import feature. Using the Bulk Import feature, the administrator can upload hundreds of users at once via a formatted spreadsheet.
Create the Spreadsheet
Start by creating a CSV spreadsheet of the community members you wish to add.
Include the following column names (in this order): Name, Email, Username, and Role.
- Name is required and will be the user's display name.
- Email is required and will be used for sending system notifications to the user.
- Username is optional and is what the user will use to log in. If left blank, the user's Email will be used.
-
Role is optional and can have a value of PM, or Admin. If left blank, the user will be a Linguist.
When saving, be sure to save the spreadsheet as a .CSV file.
Example
Use the example as a guide to create the spreadsheet.
Name | Username | Role | |
---|---|---|---|
Katie Miskin | kmiskin@lingotek.com | kmiskin | Admin |
David Torres | dtorres@lingotek.com | dtorres | PM |
Sabrina Liu | sliu@lingotek.com | sliu | PM |
Andre Palakiko | apalakiko@lingotek.com | apalakiko |
In this case, Andre Palakiko is a Linguist since his Role was left blank.
Import the Spreadsheet
Once the spreadsheet is created, import and create the new users.
- Log into Lingotek as an administrator.
Choose Community from the side bar and select Community Members.
-
Click New Community Member. In the dialog, switch to Import.
-
Click Choose File.
Using your file explorer, navigate to the CSV, click to highlight it, and click Open to select it.
Under New Password, type in a password. This password will be assigned to all users and can be changed the first time they log in.
When you are ready, click Save to add the new users.
